Early Years at Beeston Primary

At Beeston Primary we understand that starting in Nursery and/or Reception is such a big transition for children and their families. We appreciate that making the decision regarding where to send your child to school is a very important one and getting ‘a feel’ for a place is so important. Families need to rest assured that their children are in good, safe hands.

We have no further planned Opening Evening sessions this year, but we would be pleased to show you around school at a suitable time; please contact the school office to arrange.

It is so important to us that all families and children are fully informed and have their questions and concerns answered before they start with us.

We have a full transition package planned each year to ensure the transition into school runs smoothly. This is reviewed, changed and improved yearly or to fit the individual needs of the children coming into school. The transition process always involves with the children starting by attending reduced hours, which are then built up to their full times hours.

There is information on this page and in the EYFS section of the Curriculum page on our school website that will help and inform families about life at our school.  Please also make sure you look at our school Facebook page ‘Beeston Primary School – Leeds’.

Here are a list of books about starting school that you might like to read to your child to support their understanding around this important transition:
