SPELLING OF THE DAY

Spell todays word as a pyramid : System

e.g.

Cat

 

WIDER CURRICULUM:

Choose one room in your house, this could be your kitchen, living room etc. Find items which are made of plastic, metal and wood.

Make a list of at least 15 items and their properties e.g. spoon - metal.

When you have listed your items create a bar chart showing your results. You may want to use a tally chart to collect your results into a table first

Tip - For the Y axis (the Vertical line) use the scale of 1cm = 1 item

 

FUN:

Make somebody else in your house a drink, this could be a glass of water, squash etc.

Write a set of instructions for your video game and how to play it.

Remember to include imperative verbs.

Material hunt - Find different items around your house

You must find:

- 5 items that are made of wood,

- 5 items that are made of plastic

- 5 items that are made of metal

Create a list in your book, you will need these later in the week.

e.g. Table - Wood

 

FUN:

Create your own exercise circuit with at least 5 stations.

You must exercise for at least 1 minute on each station.

Make sure you include a rest period between each station.

E.g. Station 1- Star Jumps

Create your own place value word problems.

 

English: 

Sentence challenge!

Can you make a list of feelings that the boy is experiencing?

E.g. excited curious

Can you then begin a sentence with a feeling?

Curious, the boy peeked through the hole in the fence.

Perfect picture!

Can you draw what the boy can see through the hole in the fence?

Thorough – Write it in bubble letters

Imperative verbs – Write a list of commands with imperative verbs, this could be as part of a game, a set of instructions or some rules for a game.

Spelling of the day:

‘Twelfth’ – Create a poster all about the number 12. How many times can you write ‘Twelfth’?

Write your name using Ancient Maya hieroglyphics.

‘Variety’ – write 3 or more sentences with today’s spelling word
