MATHS:

Find as many ways as you can to represent a number within 50.  Is it odd or even? How do you write it in words? Can you use numicon, base 10 or counters to represent it? Do you know any +, -, x facts for this number?

 

SOUND OF THE DAY:

Practice writing the grapheme. How many words can you think of with this sound in? 

Challenge: try and write a sentence with an 'ar' word in it.

 

ENGLISH:

Write a poem about Easter or spring. You could write about chicks, lambs, flowers or Easter eggs! Could you include some rhyming words in your poems?

Record number bonds to 20. Can you write the related subtraction fact?

e.g. 16 + 4 = 20   20 – 16 = 4

English: 

Write a letter to your teacher. Tell them what your favourite lesson is and what you enjoy about school. Could you add a question you might want to ask your teacher?

Practice writing the digraph. How many words can you think of with this sound in? 

Challenge: try and write a sentence with an oa sound in it.

 

English: 

Write instructions to make a jam sandwich. Think about: 

  • Using numbers at the beginning of your instructions
  • Using imperative (bossy) verbs e.g. Do, Take, Get, Spread
  • Making sure your instructions are in chronological order

Next half term we are going to look at measures. Go on a hunt around your house for things you can use to measure. Can you find: a themometer, a ruler, a tape measure, weighing scales? Did you find anything else? 
What other things can you think of that we use to measure?
