Can you point to the title whilst your grown up reads it.

Can you talk about what is happening in the picture?

Station 7          Teddy Bears and Tutus: Rainbow Dash Party

Fill the Bucket

Using cups (or big sponges if youre feeling adventurous) Run to the bucket at the end and fill up at your sup
Run/walk very fast back and try and get it in your second bucket back at the start.
Who wins? (You may want to add penalties for spllied water hehe)

Just like when we did space stand on the spot and see how far you can jump?
You may want to mark boxes on the floor with chalk so you don't have to keep measuring or use markers/mini cones eg. I jumped to cone 3.

Have a think about the different times in the day--what do you do each day?

(Breakfast time, getting dressed, brushing teeth, lunch time, tea time, Nursery time, bath time, bed time)

Now show your family how to play 'What time is it Mr Wolf?' Remember to count your steps carefully!!

Story Time

Have another look at your Oxford Reading Tree characters?

Which character is the youngest? (Kipper)

Which character has four legs and a waggy tail? (Floppy)

What is the big sister called? (Biff)

 

Now for a lovely story Miss Farrington used with her FS2 bubble this week. The bigger boys and girls loved it and tried to join in with the signs too.

Exercise

Following on from Monday, exercise this week will be to practise two stations a day. Keep your resources handy and then on Friday you can have a family Sports Day together!! (Don't forget we would love to see any photos of you having fun together on Tapestry!! ...or send them to the main office email to go on facebook)

 

Station 5          4 Bear Crawl Variations That Build Total-Body Strength | STACK Measure a good distance for your race.
Bear crawl (hands and feet on the floor as fast as you can) to the end. Remember to go over the line!
Ask your grown up to time how long it takes (on their phone)!
Station 6        Kids Play Football On Outdoor Field. Children Score A Goal At ... Goal Score.
How many times can you kick a ball between 2 markers in 30 seconds?

Story Time

Have you remembered your Oxford Reading Tree characters from yesterday?

 

See if you can tell your grown up what is happening in today's book.

[Simple sentences such as 'The dog is in the water', 'Floppy is sitting next to the water' are good. They may be able to challenge themselves further with longer sentences such as 'The brown and white dog is swimming in the water and he's got a stick in his mouth' or 'I think the dog has been to Fetch the stick'.]

Station 3          Super-athletic boy, 7, labelled the 'fastest kid in the world ... Measure a good distance for your race.
Sprint (run as fast as you can) to the end. Remember to go over the line!
Ask your grown up to time how long it takes (on their phone)!
Station 4         11 Indoor and Outdoor Relay Races for Kids Measure a good distance for your race.
Carry your egg on your spoon all the way to the end. No cheating! If it falls off, stop and put it back on.

Story Time

Something a little different this week. If we were in Nursery we would be starting our Guided Reading this half term to get used to the Oxford Reading Tree characters. We thought you'd like to have a go at home with your grown ups instead.

Today get to know the characters and see if you can remember their names. Talk about what they look like, what they're wearing etc to help you try and remember them.

 

Now have a look at this book. This is the front cover. Can you point to the title whilst your grown up says 'Fetch'. 

Have a little chat with your grown up about what is happening in the picture. What might happen in the story?

You will get to find out tomorrow!

Can you find at least one of each shape?? Now drop them into a feely bag. Take it in turns to describe one shape eg. it has 4 straight sides, it has 4 pointy corners. Can your grown up/you guess what it is? If you/they get it right, keep the shape. Who has the most shapes at the end? WINNER!! smiley

Draw around yourself. You may want to use chalk on the floor or use a big piece of paper (old wallpaper?) or an empty box (has anyone else gone a little crazy at Ikea like MIss Farrington?! hehe) Don't foget to add your eyes, nose, mouth, ears etc.

Your grown up will then tell you a body part and you need to jump to that bit of your person as quickly as you can.

When you've finished you may want to play dress-up dolls using your outits!

Can you use your careful counting to count out 5 berries (or other yummy snacks...cheerios, apple slices, cubes of cheese etc) and then 6 more. How many yummy snacks do you get altogether??

 

Miss Farrington has packed Albie 10 blueberries for his lunch tomorrow. Who has got more snacks? You or Albie?

 

Wider Curriculum

Print or draw your own patterns to follow. You may want to use chalk on the floor or wall outside, and paint over using water on a paintbrush. You may want to use a pen/pencil on paper. You may want to create your own patterns in a shallow sand/salt tray!
