Lessons across school are fun and engaging. We follow the National Curriculum which is a set of subjects and standards used by primary schools across England so that children learn the same things. It establishes the subjects taught and the knowledge, skills and understanding required for each subject. Schools do however have the flexibility to decide which topics and themes should be taught, in each year group, to make it more relevant for the children at their schools.
The National Curriculum is organised into key stages which are blocks of school years. At the end of each key stage, the teacher will formally assess your child, accompanied by national tests in Years 2 and Years 6.
There is a lot of teamwork and collaboration within the school enabling children and teachers to develop together.
“…pupils relish the opportunity to produce better-quality writing and more pupils are on track to achieve higher standards.” (OFSTED, 2017)
